Whale watching in Baja CaliforniaDuration: 9 days 8 nights The Baja California Peninsula offers a different geography from the rest of Mexico. You will get a chance to explore the wild beauty of this unique region of Mexico during this tour. You can also combine this route with our copper canyon tours. Day 1 – La Paz Arrival to the city of La Paz, transfer to your Hotel. Overnight in La Paz. Day 2 – La Paz - Loreto You will begin your trip today traveling towards Loreto. On the way to Loreto, you will reach the town of San Carlos, where you will be able to take a boat trip to see the grey whales in their natural habitat. At mid-day, you will continue towards the coastal town of Loreto. Overnight in Loreto. Day 3 – Loreto – Bahia Concepcion – San Ignacio You will leave Loreto today and head towards the northern part of the Peninsula along the sea of Cortes. You will then reach the beaches of Bahia de la Concepción, a paradise for many ocean lovers. After a stop in Santa Rosalía, you will continue towards the town of San Ignacio. Overnight in San Ignacio Day4 – San Ignacio After breakfast, you will travel towards the San Ignacio Lagoon, where you can further watch grey whales in their natural habitat. In the afternoon, you will get a chance to visit the Jesuit Church of Misión de San Ignacio de Kadakaamán, one of Baja’s most beautiful churches. Overnight in San Ignacio Day 5 – Sierra de San Francisco After breakfast, you will begin your trip towards Sierra de San Francisco. After a small hike, you will reach the site’s famous petroglyphs. In recognition to its cultural importance, these petroglyphs have been declared a UNESCO world heritage site. Overnight in San Ignacio Day 6 – Guerrero Negro In the morning, you will depart towards the Ojo de Liebre, where you can further observe whales in their natural habitat at one of Baja California’s main whale watching spot. Overnight in San Ignacio Day 7 – San Ignacio – Muelegé - Loreto As you return towards Loreto, you will cross the 2000m high volcano of “Tres Virgenes”. You will also get a chance to visit the town of Mulegué, said to be the preetiest town in Baja California. Overnight in Loreto Day 8 – Loreto – La Paz In the Morning, you will get a chance to freely explore the town of Loreto. In the afternoon, you will travel towards the city of La Paz, capital of the state of Baja California. Day 9 – La Paz – Cabo San Lucas – La Paz Today you will travel towards Cabo San Lucas, one of Baja’s main cities. On the way, you will get a chance to visit the town of Todos Santos, a coastal paradise in the Pacific Ocean. You will also get a chance to take a boat ride to visit the rock formations in Cabo San Lucas. Your tour will end here, or otherwise you can travel back to La Paz to take a ferry towards Los Mochis and continue your adventure towards the Copper Canyon.
