Day 2 - Mexico CityVisit to Mexico City’s colonial sites:
The Coyoacan district is famous for its colonial plazas, museums, theaters, bars and markets. The district is considered the cultural heart of Mexico City, among the main attractions in the area you will be able to see: The Frida Kahlo House, the Leon Trotsky Museum. San Angel is also located in the southern area of Mexico City. It is known for its typical Mexican architecture and it is home to one of the largest markets of popular Mexican art in the country, and a number of art galleries Overnight in Mexico City
Day 3 - Teotihuacan
Daytrip to Teotihuacán Pyramids. Teotihuacán’s history is quite mysterious, the site dates back to the year 200 B.C. and it was named by the Aztecs centuries after the city fell. Its original name is unknown, and its modern name in Nahuatl means “City of the Gods”. After the visit, you will travel back to Mexico City for a possible visit to the “Basilica de Guadalupe”, Mexico’s most visited church known particularly for the cult to the Virgin of Guadalupe. Overnight in Mexico City Day 4 – Xochicalco - Taxco
You will travel today towards the Colonial town of Taxco. On the way, you will get a chance to explore the archeological site of Xochicalco. Some archeological studies suggest that this city became an important urban center after the fall of Teotihuacan, during the Epiclassical period. The town of Taxco is particularly known for its architectural beauty and its silver production. On Saturdays, the silver market opens its doors to visitors from all over the country looking to buy some of the best silverware in Mexico. Among Taxco's main architectural attractions, we can find the temple of Santa Prisca. Overnight in Mexico City Day 5 – Mexico City – San Miguel de Allende - Guanajuato
Visit San Miguel de Allende’s historical center. San Miguel de Allende is famous worldwide for its colonial architecture, its thermal waters, and its weather. The place was originally founded by in the year 1542 by the Franciscan monk Juan de San Miguel, who named the site "San Miguel el Grande". The town was an important site on the silver route, who connected with the city of Zacatecas. After following some fascinating scenery, you will arrive towards the city of Guanajuato. Overnight in Guanajuato. Day 6 - Guanajuato – Morelia
Visit to Guanajuato, Guanajuato is the Capital of the state with the same name, and it has been declared a UNESCO world heritage site. Guanajuato is home to some of Mexico’s best preserved colonial buildings. Late in the afternoon, you will transfer towards the city of Morelia. Overnight in Morelia
Day 7 - Morelia – Patzcuaro
The morning begins with a city tour in Morelia. The colonial constructions are the main attraction this city, Morelia's historical centre has also been delclared a UNESCO world Heritage site. Morelia's world heritage area comprises a total of 271 ha, in which there are 219 blocks, 15 plazas, and 1113 historical, civil and religious monuments. You will then continue towards Patzcuaro. The town is located at the shores of Patzcuaro lake. At this town, you will be able to find traditional Mexican hand-crafts like ceramic, wood carvings, cooper & woven goods. Overnight in Patzcuaro. Day 8 - Patzcuaro - Mexico City.
After breakfast, you will get a chance to navigate around Patzcuaro lake by boat. You will get a chance to visit the island of Janitzio, inhabited by the purépecha people. Travel back to Mexico City. Depending on your flight arrangements, you can travel back on the evening or have one more night in Mexico City.
