Day 1. Arrival to Mexico City
Arrival to Mexico City, pick up from the airport and transfer to your Hotel in Mexico City’s historical Center.

Day 2. Teotihuacán and Historical Center
On this day, you will get a chance to visit the Teotihuacán Pyramids. Teotihuacán’s history is quite mysterious, the site dates back to the year 200 B.C. and it was named by the Aztecs centuries after the city fell. Its original name is unknown, and its modern name in Nahuatl means “City of the Gods”.
Afterwards, you will travel back to Mexico City for a visit to Mexico City's Historical center, its zocalo and the Metropolitan Cathedral.

Day 3. Mexico City – Puebla - Veracruz
Transfer in the morning to the city of Puebla, a city whose historical center has been declared a UNESCO World heritage site due to its architectural colonial designs.
After lunch in Puebla, transfer to the Port of Veracruz. Visit to the historical center of the city and the port area.

Day 4. Veracruz - Catemaco
We will depart Veracruz today and travel towards the southern jungle in the region of Los Tuxtlas. We will arrive to the rural community of Lopez Mateos, where you will enjoy a lunch with the local community.
After lunch, we will hike across the jungle and hear the explanations from the local community about the flora and fauna of the region. You will also get a chance to swim in the natural pools and cascades close to the community.

Day 5. Local Community in los Tuxtlas

We will start in the morning at 7:00 by watching some of the local bird species in the jungle, like the toucans and parrots.
In the afternoon, will hike following the Cocoxpan river to watch some changes in the jungle scenery. There are a number of natural pools along the river where you will be able to swim in the most natural environment. At the end of the hike, you will reach the "Bat cave" home to a colony of bats. You will get to know why this little animal is important in the regeneration of the jungle

Day 6. Los Tuxtlas - San Cristóbal de las Casas
We will depart the rural community in los tuxtlas and head further south towards the region of Chiapas and San Cristóbal de las Casas.
Visit on arrival the town of San Cristóbal de las Casas and get to know the ancient Mayan medicine practices at the local Mayan medicine museum. For the Mayan medicine, nature determines the well being of the human kind. The diagnostic and treatment of certain diseases can be directly related to the relation that each individual has with its natural environment.

Day 7. Zinacatan and San Juan Chamula

We will know today the local Tzotzil culture at the village of San Juan Chamula. The village is the center of some unique religous practices and is located at 10 km of San Cristóbal de las Casas.
Afterwards, we will visit the Tzotzil village of San Lorenzo Zinacantán, located at 11 km from San Cristóbal de las Casas. Here, you will be able to appreciate some of the local weaving techniques and have a taste of the traditional tzotzil food.

Day 8. San Cristóbal de las Casas - Palenque

We will depart from the Mexican highlands towards the tropical jungle, where you will have a chance to visit the Misol-Ha Waterfalls, which are over 40 meters tall.
In the afternoon, you will visit the Palenque ruins. Palenque’s origins date back to the 5th and 9th century. It is known that it was one of the main cities of the time, along with Toniná, Calakmul, Pomoná, Comalcalco, Tikal and Copán.

Day 9. Palenque - Campeche

We will depart today towards the city of Campeche. During the XVIth and XVIIth century, the city was assaulted by Pirates in the region, which forced the spanish crown to built a defense system formed by large walls, forts and other ancient military equipment. Campeche's historical centre and its old neighborhoods are considered a UNESCO world heritage site.

Day 10. Campeche – Uxmal - Merida
Morning departure towards Uxmal, a traditional ancient Maya city typical of the Puuc Style whose dominance extended to the nearby towns of Sayil, Kabah, Xlapak and Labná. you will have a chance to appreciate the pyramid of the Magician, the largest Mayan temple in the Puuc Zone and The Nunnery Quadrangle which is the finest of Uxmal's several quadrangles of long buildings with elaborately carved façades.
Continue in the afternoon towards the capital of Yucatan, Merida. The dominant metropolitan center in the Yucatan Peninsulla.

Day 11. Merida – Izamal

We will depart Mérida today and head east towards the quiet colonial gem of Izamal. Here, you will get a chance to visit the monastery of San antonio de Padua, built during the XVIth century. Three blocks north of the monastery, you will be able to appreciate the Mayan Pyramid of Kinich-Kakmó.

Day 12. Maya Community visit in Oxwatz eco-archaeological trail

Live the local Maya culture at the local community of Tekal de Venegas. Today, we will have a number of activities guided by our local Mayan guides in Oxwatz: biking across jungle trails, swimming in the natural "cenotes", tasting the local maya cuisine, kayaking in lagoons and exploring ancient Maya archaeological remains off the beaten path.

Day 13. Izamal - Chichen Itzá - Cancun

Depart the town of Izamal towards the Mayan archaeological site of Chichen Itzá. The site is particularly known for its Kukulcan pyramid, which largely resembles the remains of the Toltec city of Tula in Central Mexico.
After visiting Chichen Itzá, we will finalize our journey in the caribbean coast of Cancun. Drop off at your preferred hotel in Cancun or elsewhere in the Riviera Maya.
