AcapulcoWithout the need of any introductions, Acapulco is probably one of the best known tourist attractions in Mexico. Its History dates back to Mexico's colonial Period, when Hernán Cortés used it as a port for connecting with the Spanish colonies in Asia. Being absolutely honest, Acapulco beaches are not the best in the Mexican Pacific coast. Pollution problems often arrive to most of the urban beaches, and swimming in some of its beaches is often not recommended. Acapulco's nightlife, however, could be an interesting experience if you are the nightclub type of person. The beaches of "Pie de la cuesta" are also definetely worth the visit. Pie de la cuesta is located at 20 kms north of Acapulco, and its atmosphere is much more relaxed. If you are traveling to Acapulco, try to avoid the "Semana Santa" period. During these times, the town is taken over by tourists and teenagers from Mexico City, who often come to this place as a quick getaway. Moving from one place to another can be a real hassle during this time, not to mention the overcrowded beaches that can give you some unpleasent experiences. Interested in visiting this place?
